When you, the fan, purchase a CD you automatically
identify with an artist and/or band. Little is
ever known about the recordings visualization
or the stages it took before becoming a reality.
We usually hear about the musicians, the vocalists,
the producer, the arrangers, and after many years
of ignoring them, the composers.
For many recordings it is a long and painful road
that evntually becomes a dream come true for some
and a nightmare for others.
One person who many times can be the savior or
the destroyer of the dream is the Executive Producer
and how far he is willing to go to make the project
the best it could be.
Such a man is Mel Morrow.
Mel created Orquesta La Palabra two years ago
and recorded their CD "On Fire" on his
record label Morrowland Records. Since his release
of "On Fire" he has released movie actor
Angelo Pagan's "No Tengas Miedo", Johnny
Polanco's "Pal Bailador", La Sonora
de Macondo y La India Meliyara's "Sin Alma
y Sin Corazon" and is soon to release others.
Mel also created Timba,
Inc., which is a manufacturer of hand percussion
instruments, such as congas, bongos, claves, cowbells,
etc. These instruments are now considered to be
one of the highest quality and sought after instruments
in the world.
Whether its drums or music, Mel has always stressed
quality and integrity to his employees as a way
of life.
Considering that most music labels and musical
instruments manufactures take three to five years
to be successful, Mel is quickly setting the basis
for the future and is well on his way.
There are many people in the music industry that
should be grateful that Mel Morrow exists.
